Represents the XML element AcoustoOpticalBeamSplitter.

An AOBS is actually an AOTF used in an imaginative manner by Leica to replace the dichroic mirror usually used to separate the illumination and the detection paths in a confocal fluorescence Microscope. In practice the AOBS is programmed so that it leaves most of the incoming beam of light undeflected, and it only deflects light originating from specific laser lines. The AOBS allows the simultaneous deflection of multiple laser lines simultaneously towards the sample, while at the same time controlling the intensity of each line independently.
